Hello everyone and welcome back for our February/March blog post. Due to ongoing issues we will discuss later in this update, we decided to skip last months update and instead add that information to this months update while we continued our work behind the scenes. We have a lot of information to cover today, so without further ado, lets begin!
28FT Under Officially Delayed Indefinitely
To start things off we are deeply saddened to announce that our first feature film 28Ft Under is delayed indefinitely. While production on the film started to ramp up in 2025, president elect Donald Trump imposed a new set of tariffs on foreign imports. A number of these tariffs, specifically tariffs imposed on Chinese goods directly impacted us here at Crystal Ignition. We are a small independent film studio. As such we cannot afford to operate and acquire the goods we need to continue production. A tariff is a tax that is paid at the point of entry. This tax is not paid by any foreign country, it is paid by American citizens and businesses. We are working to acquire the resources we need via alternative methods. In the meantime we find it best to delay the film and update the community in the future.
New Project Coming Soon!
Moving on to more positive news, we are excited to share that the studio is pivoting to an unannounced documentary project in place of 28FT Under. This project was meant to release as a surprise during our 2026 anniversary event but has been pushed up. While the film may still release in 2026 you can expect to hear more about it and potentially get a sneak preview in the coming weeks. Speaking of our anniversary..
Yearly Anniversary Officially Moves To The Summer!
Today we are announcing that our yearly anniversary event will officially be moved to the summer starting this year. While we are aware that the number of delays and schedule changes are very frustrating we believe that this particular change is best supported by the community. We look forward to this years showcase and will have more information soon.

Starting things off we closed out January with a tribute video to David Lynch.
Moving on to February we have a new reaction video to the new Shrek 5 cast announcement trailer!
Finally for March we have a very important video defending diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as another reaction video to the upcoming Pokemon Legends ZA deep dive.
February/March’s Book of the Month
Seeing as this is the first time we’ve ever combined monthly blog posts, this will also be the first time we recommend a book that is not film related. in light of recent events both socially and politically, we here at the studio believe that now is the time to discuss wealth inequality and educate our community on how the economy functions. As such we are recommending Gary Stevensons new book The Trading Game: A Confession. This book tells the story of Gary’s life and how he overcame all odds to pull himself out of poverty. However, he comes to understand how inequality actually functions and explains how he came to advocate for wealth redistribution. As usual the book can be purchased from our friends over at Books-A-Million.
